The lab ruby hardness is 9 in Mohs scale, which is one Mohs below diamond. The stone is set on oxidized silver with an open setting that allows light to travel through. The setting is matched with a round wire band. You also have the option to choose between dark oxidized silver ring and bright polish silver ring.
