The Strength of a Bond.
From a Pacifica studio, by hand, one loop at a time.
The Origin
I took my first metalsmithing class to make my own wedding bands.
Not because I wanted to save money. Not because I wanted a hobby. Because I wanted something that couldn't be bought—only made.
That ring taught me two things: I loved working with metal, and I hated using solder.
Solder creates weak joints. It leaves visible seams. It feels like a compromise when you're making a symbol of forever. So, I taught myself to fuse instead.
The Engineering Mind
Before LoveGem Studio, I earned my degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in energy conservation consulting and energy efficiency project implementation. I spent years analyzing systems to eliminate waste and maximize structural efficiency.
When I started working with silver, I didn't just think like an artist—I thought like an engineer. Jewelry is a mechanical artifact meant to withstand the friction of a life well-lived. I asked myself:
- What is the strongest joint? High-heat fusion, not solder.
- What is the cleanest process? A closed-loop system with no toxic chemical waste.
- What is the most honest material? Recycled Argentium® 940 silver.
Engineering taught me efficiency. Jewelry taught me beauty. LoveGem Studio is where they meet.
Our Signature: High-Heat Fusion
Every piece begins as a single length of raw Argentium® 940 wire. No wax molds. No mass-production casting.
I hand-form each individual loop, bring the metal to its exact melting point at 1790°F, and fuse it into a seamless bond. Because the metal flows naturally under the heat of the torch, every single loop becomes an organic, one-of-a-kind creation. No two links are ever exactly alike.
Without solder joints, there is no weak point to break. Each link becomes a single, continuous piece of metal—unbreakable and entirely unique to you.
This technique started with a simple need. A customer wanted a refined bracelet she could fasten with one hand while holding a coffee or a child’s hand. I designed a fused-loop toggle. That toggle became a necklace, then a ring, then an entire collection.
Today, High-Heat Fusion is the DNA of everything I build.
The Material: Argentium® 940 Silver
Most silver darkens over time. Argentium stays bright. It contains germanium, which creates a natural oxide layer that aggressively blocks tarnish.
Most silver causes skin reactions. Argentium is entirely hypoallergenic—completely free of nickel.
I exclusively use 100% recycled Argentium silver. Metal has a memory. By choosing materials that have lived before, your jewelry arrives infused with history, longevity, and a promise that your own memories will be preserved within the metal forever.
A Quietly Radical Process
Traditional soldering creates fire scale—a heavy oxidation layer that jewelers must strip away using harsh acid baths.
Because I use fusion, sustainability is a hard design constraint, not an afterthought. My studio has completely eliminated toxic pickle solutions and fire-scale chemicals.
Instead, the finishing process is entirely clean and mechanical: tumbling the metal in mild dish soap and steel shot.
Cleaner for me. Cleaner for you. Cleaner for the planet.
The Pacifica Studio
I work from a small studio nestled in the coastal air of Pacifica, California. The fog rolls in off the Pacific, the light shifts by the hour, and my bench faces the window.
Every piece you receive was made at this bench, by my hands, start to finish. No overseas factories. No assembly lines. Just fire, wire, and intention.
Small Batch. Never Mass Produced.
I do not outsource, and I do not make the same piece twice in the same way. Each design is released as a small-batch artifact—usually just 5 to 20 pieces at a time. When they are gone, they are gone.
This is not jewelry as an accessory.
This is jewelry as a talisman.
Wear your love, unbroken.
